National Plug In Day: An Accidental EV Wrangler
Short Description:
Former Plug In America board member Alexandra Paul describes the process of rounding up hundreds of EVs for National Plug In Day's flagship event: history's biggest EV parade.

208 Alexandra Paul and her Chevrolet Volt, July 28, 2011I have a lifelong phobia of organizing get-togethers. I avoid anything more complicated than having my book club over for a potluck.

So what did I say when Zan Dubin Scott, Plug In America's Communications Director, asked me to recruit EVs for National Plug In Day’s Santa Monica parade?

I said yes, of course.

Did I mention she wanted to make it the biggest assembly of plug-in vehicles in the world?

Reaching Out to Auto Dealers

Reaching Out to Auto Dealers
Short Description:
Plug In America went to the heart of the retail automotive industry in our first booth and press conference at the 2011 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) conference. Read what auto execs, dealers, and the media that serve them are saying about plug-in vehicles.

In some ways, it's a bit premature to be reaching out to auto dealers, since most of them aren't yet selling electric vehicles (EVs) or plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). On the other hand, now is the time to let them know that Plug In America can help them succeed when they do start selling plug-ins. They could avoid some of the mistakes made by dealers with the last generation of EVs. We want them to succeed!
