NYC Plug-in Day, taking place on Sunday October 16th, is a celebration of the arrival of electric cars to the New York area and an answer to the immense public curiosity about the electric vehicle ecosystem that is developing in our region.
Attracted by a full showcase of electric vehicles from GM, Nissan, Smart, Mini and other manufacturers, members of the public will be invited to interact with current owners and explore the resources, products and services that are enabling fleet and private adoption in our area.
NYC Plug-in Day will take place on Pier 54, a prime 56,000 square foot location within Hudson River Park at 13th Street and in walking distance of the new High Line Park, the Meatpacking District, and Union Square. With a concerted public outreach effort leading up to the event, dozens of electric vehicles on display, and high visibility activities for kids and adults in and around Pier 54, the event seeks to maximize public interaction, awareness and excitement about electric vehicles in New York City.
NYC Plug-in Day is being produced by an independent team of local EV advocates, sponsored by the Hudson River Park Trust, but is part of a larger coordinated effort by the Sierra Club, Plug-in America, and the Electric Auto Association that will feature simultaneous events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Washington DC, and other cities across the country.
