DontCrush.com Campaign to Save RAV4 EVs
On June 1, 2005 DontCrush.com began a campaign to align Toyota with public opinion that all-electric cars should be kept on the road. Linda Nicholes and Howard Stein became spokespersons for DontCrush and told the story of how perfectly good, emissions-free, all-electric cars were being taken out of service and destroyed.
Growing support from people all over the US - youth, elected officials, fleet owners, environmental advocates, and people like you, who want sustainable, clean transportation options - combined into a common voice that said Stop crushing cars, keep them on the road.
On September 1, 2005, DontCrush was able to announce that Toyota had agreed to sell Linda her car and to keep others like hers on the road. See the ad that launched the DontCrush campaign that drew nationwide support of these emissions and oil-free cars. Download larger PDF version
